• Alumna's art captures plaza dedication (ung.edu) — A University of North Georgia alumna from Buford, Kayleigh Riker, was commissioned to create a detailed painting capturing a plaza dedication with cadets, crowds, and campus landmarks. Drawing on her visual arts training and event painting experience, she enjoyed interacting with attendees while working. The finished piece, framed with wood from UNG’s Dahlonega Campus trees, will be presented to retired Maj. Gen. James Livingston.
   

• FSU projected to land Auburn transfer quarterback (usatoday.com) — A former Buford standout quarterback, Ashton Daniels, is widely projected to transfer from Auburn to Florida State, giving the Seminoles an experienced signal-caller. Multiple recruiting outlets now predict he’ll join FSU after a recent visit, where his starting experience and dual-threat production made him the program’s top portal target.
