- On Jul. 21, the Canton City Council unanimously voted to set the city's millage rate at 5.4 mills. The city also held its first public hearing on the city's proposed $79.8 million budget for 2023. (Cherokee Tribune & Ledger News)
- On Jul. 21, two Canton police officers were awarded the Meritorious Service Award after their human trafficking arrest. Officer M. Shaw and Detective T. Cruz displayed "outstanding investigative performance and criminal apprehension" and rescued a human trafficking victim. (Cherokee Tribune Ledger News)
- Harmon Field, one of Canton's oldest parks, will be getting major improvements. Improvements include a new basketball court, a mini-pitch soccer field, and a number of
improvements to the existing baseball fields and facilities.
