- There are many events happening in the Canton-Sixes area this weekend. Highlights include Chris Isaak performing live at the Canton Palace Theatre, SpongeBob Musical at the North Canton Playhouse, and more. (Canton Rep)
- Cherokee County fire officials said a 10-year-old boy, Zizo Knight, saved his family from a fire that destroyed his home early on the morning of Jul. 14. According to Cherokee firefighters, Zizo woke up when he heard what sounded like fireworks and saw the front porch and part of the roof were on fire. Zizo woke up his parents and 18-month-old brother before the home's roof caved in. Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire as of 6:00 p.m. on Jul. 14. (Georgia Patch)
- Chipper Jones, the Atlanta Braves Hall of Famer, bought a $3 million, 5,788-square-foot Blue Ridge lake house. He recently listed his $15 million Canton home for sale. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
