- The Cherokee County School District recognized Kristin Davis, 2022's Free Home Elementary School Teacher of the Year! After teaching for three years, Davis left the classroom for 15 years to raise her four children, while still actively volunteering in their schools. - This past Saturday, the Cherokee County Jeepers held their annual Back the Blue Pavement Ride. Riders stopped by the Canton Police Department to drop off treats and show their appreciation for our officers. - Canton-area drivers will want to plan ahead for their commutes next month: The Cherokee County Roadway Capital Program announced that between Sep. 12 and Sep. 25, Victory Drive at Kellogg Creek Road will be closed to through traffic. The closures are related to the Bells Ferry Road at Kellogg Creek Road at Victory Drive intersection improvement project. - Mark your calendars: The Canton Multicultural Festival is coming up in just a few short weeks! On Sep. 9, the City of Canton and the Canton Police Department, along with several other community partners, will be hosting this free event to provide local residents with "a glimpse of the many different cultures and their heritages." Planned events include a 5K race at 8:00 a.m., a soccer tournament at 10:30 a.m., and numerous cultural food items, live performances, and interactive demonstrations.
