- Cherokee County School District (CCSD) will host a Fall Job Fair on Nov. 17 from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Job openings include mid-year teachers, bus drivers, paraprofessionals, and school nutrition assistant managers and subs. Visit the district’s website to learn more. (Cherokeek 12)
- The Cherokee County School District's Class of 2022 scored a 22.2 average for ACT scores, which is higher than both national and state averages. But CCSD ACT scores have dropped since 2021, which had an average of 23.2. The full score comparison breakdown is available on the school district’s website. - Annie Vorhies of Canton was honored as an October Rider of the Month for her impressive riding performance for Baylor University. Vorhies scored a career-high of 90 in Flat against No. 4 Oklahoma State, where she also earned her first career MOP. According to Big12Sports, she recorded the largest point spread in Flat (18) versus No. 1 TCU earlier in the month and helped Baylor claim a 5-0 victory. (Big12sports.com)
