Cherokee Business Acquired By Japanese-Based Company
CAIRE, Inc., which specializes in oxygen supply equipment, is now a subsidiary of NGK Spark Plug Co., a ceramics processing manufacturer.

BALL GROUND, GA — A Cherokee County global manufacturer of oxygen supply equipment has announced it has been acquired by NGK Spark Plug Co. Ball Ground-based CAIRE, Inc., is now a subsidiary of the NGK, a ceramics processing manufacturer known for its spark plugs and oxygen sensors.
The acquisition comes on the heels of Chart Industries announcing the sale of its oxygen-related products from its Biomedical Division to the NGK for $133.5 million. Earl Lawson, president of CAIRE, said NGK Spark Plug, headquartered in Nagoya, Japan, has been a leader in its market for the last 80 years.
"Their sense of vision and planning to meet the health care needs of the future makes the acquisition of CAIRE a natural fit," he added. "CAIRE brings a legacy of 50 years in developing oxygen delivery systems and our goal to be the manufacturer of choice for the providers and people everywhere who depend on us."
