- A Cherokee County deputy came to the rescue of a fawn trapped in a deep hole. Caught on video, Deputy Addison Bass jumps into a hole at a construction site in the Carmichael Farms subdivision to save a baby deer. The fawn took off into the woods as soon as it was released. (FOX5 Atlanta)
- Cherokee County cities are all in agreement for the decision to extend the one-cent Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax will be left up to voters in November. Board of Commissioners Chairman Harry Johnston said, "With the approval, Cherokee will remain one of just four Georgia counties with a total 6 percent sales tax rate. All others have 7 percent or more." (Cherokee County)
- The Cherokee County School District is asking parents to complete their child's first-day forms on the Back-to-School Gateway platform by this Friday, Aug. 12. You can find the first-day forms here. (Cherokee County School District)
- The Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services is inviting community members to "reach new heights" and apply for an open position.
