- Yesterday, Aug. 2, Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services reported a house fire on West Oaks Drive in south Cherokee County. According to Cherokee County and Woodstock firefighters, the fire was contained in one room, and no injuries were reported. (Cherokee Tribune & Ledger News)
- The National PTA honored two Cherokee County School District schools. Boston Elementary School and Little River Elementary School were recently named winners of the National PTA School of Excellence award. (Press Release Desk)

- The Canton Police Department reminds residents that school buses are back on the roadways! CPD listed the following tips to keep in mind while driving. Traffic will increase, so prepare accordingly. Be alert for the "STOP" signs and flashing lights signaling that the bus is about to stop and students will be loading or unloading. Leave earlier to give yourself more time to get to your destination. Slow down. Put your phone away. Be cautious when approaching crosswalks. (Facebook)
