Chick-fil-A Opens Jan. 9 In Hickory Flat
The restaurant will be built on the site of the former Hickory Flat Store, which was demolished in 2018.

CANTON, GA — Chick-fil-A will expand its footprint in Cherokee County when it opens its newest restaurant Jan. 9 in the Hickory Flat community.
The restaurant at 6114 Hickory Flat Highway will open at 6 p.m. Wednesday, allowing residents enjoy the eatery's famous chicken sandwiches, savory waffle fries and other treats. This new location is part of a record week of openings for Chick-fil-A, with the chain opening eight additional franchise locations around the country, the company said.
Kevin Williams, the local franchise owner, said he's excited to open the facility that will replace the former Hickory Flat Store. The store, as readers recall, was demolished in 2018 to accommodate the new restaurant.

The restaurant, which is nearly 5,000 square feet, will feature a dining room that seats 116 customers indoors and 16 patrons outside. The Hickory Flat Chick-fil-A will also include a vintage-inspired interior, including a large gathering table made from reclaimed wood, light fixtures from recycled Coca-Cola bottles and peach baskets, and a two-story, indoor play area.
For those who don't have time to get out of their vehicles, the restaurant features a two-lane drive-thru, merging into a single pick-up point that can handle upwards of 200 cars an hour.
"For the past 23 years, I have served side by side with some incredible Team Members who have become like family," said Williams., a four-time recipient of the Symbol of Success Award, one of Chick-fil-A’s highest honors. "Developing these long-term relationships with my team members and the community is a priority to me. They are truly the reason we have been successful in this location. We feel so honored to be the caretakers of such a gorgeous, new restaurant that will incorporate original elements from the historic Hickory Flat store, and hope our community will continue to experience community and kindness from our Chick-fil-A Canton team."
