The residential real estate market has changed dramatically. If you took a 30 year loan in Jan. for $400K the average rate was ~3.25%. That Principal and Interest (P&I) payment was ~$1737. Today that same loan at 7.25% costs ~$2713 - nearly $1000 more/month than Jan. To get a $1737 payment now that price would need to be closer to $256K. Northwest Atlanta Properties has 10 options sellers have in today's market. If you'd like a copy click here or call 770-726-1454.

  1. On Wednesday, Nov. 2, the Canton Citizens Police Academy Class of 2022 graduated from their nine-week course. The course aims to educate and build relationships between the public and the police force. Participants learned about the inner workings and divisions of the police department as well as the other public safety organizations it works with. (Canton Police Department, GA via Facebook)
  2. Having fun isn't hard when you've got a library card! The RT Jones and Hickory Flats libraries have plenty of events for the whole family to enjoy. 3. Gov. Brian Kemp visited Canton Thursday, urging voters to visit the polls to vote for him ahead of Election Day. Sheriff Frank Reynolds, Chairman Harry Johnston, Commissioners Steve West and Richard Weatherby, and Rep. Mandi Ballinger were all in attendance. At the event, Kemp said, "We're doing good in this state because we are saying no to Stacey Abrams. We are keeping that hard-working Georgian bus tour rolling, and we are going to keep it rolling through Election Day to make sure Stacey Abrams isn't your next governor or president." 4. The Cherokee County Farm Bureau is observing Farm-City Week from Nov. 16 to Nov. 23.
Farm-City Week highlights the relationship between Georgia farmers and their partners in urban areas. The Cherokee County Farm Bureau is also sponsoring a Third Grade Farm-City Week Poster Contest, which any third-grade student in the county can enter. Students are also encouraged to write "thank a farmer" letters, which will be given to farmers in Cherokee County to show the farmers how much they are appreciated. 5. An interchange along I-575 was recently named after a police officer who died nearby in Holly Springs. Officer Joe Burson died during a traffic stop on Jun. 17, 2021, when he was dragged under the vehicle as the driver tried to flee. While the car dragged him, Burson fired one round and shot and killed the driver. The I-575 at Sixies Road interchange is now known as the "Officer Joseph W. Burson Memorial Interchange."
