Here are the top five stories in Canton-Sixes today:

  1. The River Rock Concert & Festival series finale is only a little over one week away! Don't miss your chance to see Bogey and the Viceroy and headliner Electric Avenue at Etowah River Park. This is a free concert and there will be food trucks, a children's area, inflatables, and much more. The event kicks off at 6 p.m. (City of Canton via Facebook)
  2. In 2020, two Cherokee County firefighters completed an SCBA Certified Technician II certification course, and it was determined that the Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services department needed to replace its equipment. An SCBA is worn to provide clean air in areas where it isn't safe to breathe. The department announced this week that it has completed the replacement of all the self-contained breathing apparatuses, making further strides toward ensuring firefighter safety.   3. The Velocity Football Academy in Canton is looking for a new intern! The candidate hired will be working under an OL technician.   4. An assault occurred at a local Waffle House, and now Cherokee County authorities are working to identify the two men involved. The two men wanted for police questioning are described white males who may have been driving a black or dark-colored pickup truck. Anyone with identifying information for the two men is encouraged to contact the Criminal Investigations Division. (Fox 5)
  5. Having fun isn't hard when you've got a library card! The RT Jones and Hickory Flats libraries have plenty of events for the whole family to enjoy.
