• Father, Daughter Dead In Apparent Murder-Suicide: GA Sheriff (patch.com) — Canton residents are mourning after authorities say 57-year-old Curtis Evans and his 28-year-old daughter Emily Evans were found dead from gunshot wounds in woods off Lower Burris Road in Cherokee County. Investigators believe it was a murder-suicide and are still working to determine a motive, while also reminding residents that suicide prevention help is available through 988 and the Crisis Text Line.
   

• Man arrested for allegedly setting fire to Canton park restrooms (fox5atlanta.com) — Fires set inside restrooms at Heritage Park and Etowah River Park led Canton police to arrest a local man on multiple arson-related charges. Thanks to quick work by Canton detectives and Cherokee County firefighters, the blazes were contained to trash cans, though the city-owned restrooms suffered smoke damage. The suspect remains in the Cherokee County Jail on bond.

At 23, She Was Diagnosed with Cancer (Exclusive) (people.com) — A young Canton resident, recent Kennesaw State graduate Allie Reece, discovered that what seemed like minor shoulder pain was actually Hodgkin’s lymphoma, leading to months of tests, surgery, and chemotherapy. Now cancer-free, she’s using TikTok to share her journey, encourage early symptom checks, and support others facing similar diagnoses while rebuilding her life at home.
