  1. The State of the School District report was shared with the Rotary Club of Canton on Tuesday by Cherokee County School Superintendent Brian Hightower. “We’ve just had a wonderful start,” Hightower said. The district reported a 99.98% staffing rate which is hirer than metro Atlanta, state, and national averages. (Cherokee Tribune Ledger News)
  2. A Canton native will be teeing off at the Four Winds Invitational today at the South Bend Country Club in Indiana. Maddi Cladwell-Young will play in the first-round parings in the LPGA Epson Tour’s $200,000 invitational. The course is a par-72 with 6,456 yards. (South Bend Tribune)
  3. Five new homes have been listed for sale in the Canton-Sixes area. Available properties range from a 3,710 sq. ft., 5-bed, 2-bath home for $300,000 to a $1.7 million home with 5 beds, 6 baths, and 5,206 sq. ft. Get all the details at the link. (Canton-Sixes Patch)
  4. The City of Canton announced it will change its sanitation services provider effective Oct. 1. The city will now utilize Waste Pro for trash and recycling services. If you use this service, the city asks you to create an online account here. (City of Canton GA via Facebook)
  5. Georgia's foreclosure rate ranks ninth highest in the nation. According to a land and property data curator, Attom, the foreclosure rate in the state is one in every 770 homes. In the first half of 2022, there were 5,731 foreclosures. (The Center Square)
