CANTON, GA — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Briana Couch who nominated Ashlyn Kate Worley of Canton, who says she may not be her biological daughter, but she feels like it even so.

Reason for recognition: Ashlyn is a quiet and to herself 18 young lady. I cannot go into detail about her personal life, that would be up to her. She has overcome quite difficult situations in life and continues to advance towards her goals and dreams!!! She is an amazing young

One thing to know: How selfless she is. How willing she is to do for others before herself. She would give her life for another to survive no matter the cost.
