12th Annual Duck Dash Set For October 1
12th Annual Advocates for Children Duck Dash will take place at Cartersville Primary School.

CARTERSVILLE, GA - On Saturday, October 1, 2016 runners will lace up their running shoes for the 12th Annual Advocates for Children Duck Dash. Registration has already started for the event that will benefit Advocates for Children.
The 5K chip timed race will take off at 8 a.m. from the parking lot of Cartersville Primary School at 315 Etowah Drive, with the Fun Run for children starting at about 8:45 a.m. On-site registration will begin at 7 a.m. the morning of the race. However, participants are encouraged to pre-register in order to guarantee receipt of a technical fiber race T-shirt, available in sizes from youth sizes to adult.

The 5K course is considered fast and flat with some rolling hills and the overall elevation is about a 2 percent change. The Fun Run course, which is designed primarily for children 8 years of age and under, measures about .7 miles and is open to children of all ages.
Runners, or walkers, may preregister by visiting the Advocates for Children website, www.AdvoChild.org. Fun Run early bird registration is $10 or $15 the day of the race. Early bird registration for the 5K is $25; day of registration for the 5K is $35. Early bird registration is available until Friday, September 16, 2016.

All proceeds from the race benefit Advocates for Children, a non-profit organization that operates eight programs for the prevention and treatment of child abuse. Advocates for Children serves more than 3,000 families and children annually.
