GA Resident Snags Record $2.5M Lottery Jackpot: See Other Recent Winnings
Georgia Lottery roundup: See where the latest prizes have been won, including a nearly $2.5 million jackpot in Fantasy 5.
GEORGIA — A Cartersville resident recently hit the jackpot — the nearly $2.5 million Fantasy 5 jackpot.
The top prize of $2,488,184 was record-breaking, being the largest jackpot won in Fantasy 5's history. The previous record was $2.3 million, WXIA reported.
The winning numbers were 6, 12, 22, 26 and 27. Fantasy 5's jackpot has reset to $125,000.

The multimillion-dollar ticket was sold at Food City, 1914 Joe Frank Harris Pkwy., WXIA reported.
Additionally, someone in Buford matched four of the five white-ball numbers and the Powerball in Monday's drawing, securing a $50,000 prize, lottery officials said. The winning ticket was bought at Nallys, 5671 Shadburn Ferry Road.

The winning numbers were 15, 16, 41, 48 and 60 and a Powerball of 21. The Power Play multiplier was 3X.
The Powerball's jackpot reset to $106 million. The next drawing will be held at 11 p.m. Wednesday.
Other prizes include the following with Diggi Games on the Georgia Lottery website and mobile app, per lottery officials:
- A resident of Appling won $80,000 playing Royal Jumbo Bucks on May 10.
- A Stone Mountain player won $30,000 playing 50x The Luck Linked Wins on May 9.
- A Thomasville resident won $13,083 playing Elephant King Jackpots on May 8.
- A player in Duluth won $10,000 playing 5 Card Poker on May 8.
- A Jefferson resident won $10,000 playing Emoti Collect Vacation Riches on May 11.
Online winning tickets have an expiration date of 180 days from the drawing date while instant ticket winners have 90 days from the expired date to claim prizes. Instructions on how to receive prizes are here.
Georgia takes 5.75 percent in state taxes and 24 percent in federal taxes for winnings more than $5,000.
"The GLC reports to the IRS and Georgia Department of Revenue the names of winners of prizes above $600. ... Additionally, the GLC is required to check for and deduct any outstanding child support payments for prizes of $2,500 and above and student loans and state taxes for prizes of $5,000 and above, net of wager or ticket cost," lottery officials said on the Georgia Lottery website.
