  1. Police recently arrested 19-year-old Dayton Bryan Owen and 15-year-old Drysten Owen, both of Smyrna, in connection to the May 16 death of 19-year-old Caleb Demond Thomas, of Marietta, in Cartersville. According to reports, Drysten Owen has been charged as an adult and is currently being held in a youth detention center without bond. Dayton Owen is being held in the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office Adult Detention Center without bond. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
  2. According to Forbes, hundreds of thousands of new jobs and hundreds of billions in new GDP growth will be jeopardized if Congress repeals the Inflation Reduction Act clean energy tax credits. Cartersville and three other cities are at the center of a new energy development by announcing large clean energy manufacturing facilities and therefore have the most to lose if the credits are repealed.   3. Bartow County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance in identifying a suspect who stole from the Walmart at 101 Market Place Boulevard on May 7. BCSO posted a surveillance picture of a white female about five feet, two inches tall with brown hair and wearing a pink camo hoodie and gray shorts and the silver vehicle she used.
