Adairsville Police Use Spikes To Stop Speeding SUV On I-75

The black Nissan SUV was clocked as fast as 120 mph. Two young children were in its back seat.

BARTOW COUNTY, GA — Adairsville Police used a spike strip Friday morning to stop an SUV speeding down Interstate 75 as fast as 120 mph.

Deputies from the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office already were pursuing the Nissan SUV with New York plates south on Interstate 75 when Bartow 911 alerted Adairsville police, according to WBHF Community Radio.

Two Adairsville officers were able to stop the vehicle at mile marker 304 by using stinger spike strips that flattened the Nissan’s front tires.
