Additional Pre-K Class Coming To Adairsville Elementary School
Most of the 22 kids on the wait list will now be able to attend classes starting Jan. 8, 2019.

ADAIRSVILLE, GA — Twenty-two families in around the Adairsville community will soon receive good news from the Bartow County School System. That's because Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning has awarded Adairsville Elementary School an additional pre-kindergarten class, the system said Thursday.
Most of the children who were added to the list following a lottery drawing held in March will now have the opportunity to learn at Adairsville Elementary starting Jan. 8, 2019.
Within the last year, the Bartow County School System applied for this pre-K class twice and was denied because there were no additional funds available through Bright from the Start.
However, the school system earlier this month finally received approval of its request.

“Having this additional class is a vital component to AES and the community,” said Adairsville Elementary School Principal Melissa Zarefoss. "It means more children will benefit from a well implemented, evidence-based program that’s proven to play a key role in shaping their future. Pre-K students develop the emotional, academic, and social skills needed to start kindergarten confidently.”
If your family is on the wait list, you will be contacted soon. BCSS said it anticipates having this additional class at Adairsville Elementary for years to come, interest permitting.
