Baby's Death Under Investigation In Bartow County

BREAKING: the four-month-old infant was pronounced dead at an area hospital Friday morning, Adairsville police said.

ADAIRSVILLE, GA — Adairsville police detectives are investigating the death of a baby found Friday morning at a home on North Main Street.

Officers were dispatched to a call of an unresponsive male infant around 9 a.m. Sept. 28 at a private residence. Cops and EMS personnel arrived to find the four-month-old baby unresponsive. The baby was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

"Witnesses reported to detectives that the baby was alive around 4 a.m., but that they’d found him unresponsive just before 9 a.m. and immediately called 911," Adairsville police said.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
