Bartow County Sex Offender Residence Check Results
The sheriff's department ran a residence check on the county's 246 registered sex offenders.
BARTOW COUNTY, GA — The Bartow County Sheriff's Office ran a sex offender check in the last week of October, verifying their addresses. There were 246 registered sex offenders when they performed the check, named Operation Watchful Eye IV.
The operations was part of a statewide initiative, a release from the sheriff's office says. Of the offenders, 11 were considered sexually dangerous predators and four were homeless.
Authorities say of the 246 offenders, 208 of the residence checks were successful. The check ran from Oct. 25 to Nov. 1.

The offenders they didn't make contact with was due to them being at work or counseling while they attempted to contact them, the release says, meaning all of them were in compliance.
While all of the offenders were in compliance in terms of residency, two offenders were arrested for outstanding probation violations, the release says.
