Bartow County Student Allegedly Brings 4 Knives To School

She was arrested and jailed on carrying deadly weapons to school and carrying a concealed weapon charges.

A Woodland High School student was arrested and jailed Tuesday after authorities found a number of knives in her possession on school property, Bartow County Schools Police Chief Dan Knowles said.

Taylor Lee Woods, 19, of Windy Hill Road in Cartersville, faces two charges in connection with the case—carrying deadly weapons to school and carrying a concealed weapon.

She was booked into the Bartow County jail about 4 p.m. the day the knives were found, according to Knowles.

He said school officials got a tip, likely from other students, and conducted a search, during which they allegedly found four knives on Woods' person or among her personal belongings.

"One of (the knives) was big enough to make it a felony," Knowles said. "There were no threats, no altercations that went along with it, as far as I know."

A disciplinary hearing will be set for Woods, a senior, to determine what type of punishment, if any, she will face from the school system, Knowles said.
