How Much Do You Know About Cartersville?
Every town has its traditions. Check out these fun facts about what makes Cartersville so special.

Cartersville is a place like no other. And whether you grew up here, recently moved to the area or you’re just an occasional visitor, you know that Cartersville has its own special traditions and history that make it so unique.
A few things to know:
- Cartersville is home to the Etowah Indian Mounds, which are prehistoric Native American archaeological sites dating back to 1000 A.D. Visitors can explore the six earthen mounds, a museum with interactive exhibits and a nature trail.
- The Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville is the largest permanent exhibition space for Western art in the entire United States. The museum houses over 120,000 square feet of exhibit space and over 2,000 works of art.
- The Cartersville Bluegrass & Folk Festival is an annual event that features live music, food vendors and arts and crafts. The festival takes place in downtown Cartersville and draws visitors from all over the region.
- Cartersville is also known for its historic downtown district, which is home to a variety of unique shops and restaurants. Visitors can stroll along Main Street and explore the town's rich history.
- Cartersville is home to the Tellus Science Museum, which features exhibits on astronomy, minerals, fossils and transportation, among other things. The museum has a planetarium, a fossil dig and a Tesla coil demonstration.
- The historic Bartow County Courthouse, located in downtown Cartersville, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The courthouse was built in 1902 and is an excellent example of neoclassical architecture.
- Cartersville is located near several beautiful outdoor recreation areas, including Red Top Mountain State Park, Allatoona Lake and the Pine Mountain Trail. These areas offer opportunities for hiking, camping, boating, fishing and more.
- The Anheuser-Busch Brewery in Cartersville is one of the company's largest facilities and produces over 20 different beers, including Budweiser, Bud Light and Michelob Ultra. Visitors can take a tour of the brewery and sample some of the products.
- Cartersville is home to the Booth Western Art Museum's Presidential Gallery, which features portraits and artifacts from all 45 U.S. presidents. The gallery includes a replica of the Oval Office and a display of presidential inaugural gowns.
- The Cartersville Farmers Market is held on Saturday mornings from May to October and features local produce, baked goods, crafts and live music. The market is a great place to shop for fresh, seasonal ingredients and support local farmers and artisans.
- Cartersville is home to the world's first Coca-Cola outdoor painted wall advertisement. The advertisement was painted in 1894 on the side of the Young Brothers Pharmacy building and features the slogan "Drink Coca-Cola" in bold red letters against a white background. The advertisement has been restored and preserved over the years and is now considered a historic landmark in the city.
- Cartersville is the site of the historic Friendship Monument. The monument was originally located in the town of Etowah, but was moved to Cartersville in 1927 after the town was destroyed during the Civil War and the area was flooded to create Lake Allatoona. In the 1960s, the monument was moved again to an overlook near the Allatoona Dam and a marker was placed there. In 1999, the town of Cartersville requested that the monument and marker be returned and they were moved to Friendship Plaza.
