Cartersville Hiring Engineers: Apply Now

CARTERSVILLE, GA — The City of Cartersville is hiring two engineering positions, both supervisory roles. For their electric department, the city is hiring an engineering supervisor and an engineering coordinator.

The engineering supervisor is responsible for "supervising and directing the provision of technical engineering duties for the Electric Department," the city's website says.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Plans, organizes, coordinates, and directs the work of engineering staff and crews in the design and repair of distribution lines, substations, customer services, lighting, control systems, and related engineering tasks necessary to maintain and improve the electrical distribution system
• Acts as an engineering liaison between the Director and consulting engineers, contractors, and electricians on a variety of electrical projects. Participate in the City of Cartersville’s weekly development plan review meetings.
• Provides technical assistance with preparation of industrial proposals; develops existing industry retention programs.

The engineering coordinator is responsible for "coordinating the technical engineering duties for the Engineering Section of the Cartersville Electric System," the city's website says.

Other duties include, but are not limited to:

• Plans, organizes, coordinates, and directs the work of electrical engineering technicians in the design and repair of distribution lines, substations, customer services, lighting, control systems, and related engineering tasks necessary to maintain the electrical distribution system
• Acts as an engineering liaison between the Engineering Supervisor and consulting engineers, contractors, and electricians on a variety of electrical projects
• Draws and revises commercial and residential electrical service distribution maps using computerized drafting methods and geographic information systems (GIS)
