Cartersville Man Accused Of Sexually Exploiting Children

Officers arrested a 65-year-old man in connection with the download of child sexual abuse material, Cartersville Police said.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — A 65-year-old man is facing 35 counts of sexual exploitation of children after being accused of downloading child sexual abuse material, Cartersville Police said Wednesday.

Police say they first received a tip about the suspected download on Jan. 28 from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. They say they determined the download occurred at a City of Cartersville address.

Officers seized multiple electronic devices at the unknown address, and on Tuesday, police said Dennis Popham was arrested on 35 counts of sexual exploitation of children.

He was taken to the Bartow County Jail, where he was released on a $100,000 bond the next day, jail records showed.
