Cartersville Man Arrested, Charged With Child Molestation

Authorities said Kyle Phillip Sumner used a computer to contact someone he thought to be underage, then traveled to Floyd County to meet.

ROME, GA — A Cartersville man was arrested over the weekend In Floyd County and charged with child molestation.

Kyle Phillip Sumner, 36, used a computer to contact someone he thought to be underage, then traveled to Floyd County to meet, according to the arrest report.

Sumner is charged with felony child molestation and using a computer to solicit a child 14-15 years old to commit illegal acts. He was released from the Floyd County Jail Monday afternoon on an $11,200 bond.
