Cartersville Man Jailed, Charged with Assault, Statutory Rape
Authorities charged a 20-year-old Cartersville man with statutory rape for an encounter they say he had with a 15-year-old girl.
CALHOUN, GA — A 20-year-old Cartersville man is in the Gordon County Jail without bond after authorities said they learned he had contact with a 15-year-old girl.
The Calhoun Times reports that Jason Andrew Bromby was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault, child molestation, statutory rape and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
One of the girl’s parents contacted authorities on Sunday after she told her mother. According to the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office, Bromby had sexual contact with the girl on May 11 and had stayed in touch with her through Facebook Messenger.
