Cartersville Man Suspected of Breaking into Car, Fleeing Cops
Bartow County sheriff's authorities are seeking another man in connection with an early-morning incident off Cline Smith Road in Cartersville.

Bartow County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a Cartersville man they say was with another man, who eluded authorities, during early-morning car break-ins.
Sheriff Clark Millsap said in a release deputies were dispatched to the Churchill Downs subdivision off Cline Smith Road just after 3 a.m. Friday to a call about a prowler. Deputies checking the area heard a loud noise, then spotted James Murrell Wright, 37, of Cartersville, and another man allegedly try to flee in a 1988 Ford Crown Victoria.
The car spun out and the two occupants fled on foot. Deputies located Wright, allegedly hiding in some bushes at a neighborhood home, and he was arrested. Authorities have identified the other man and issued warrants for his arrest, and his name is not being released at this time.
Millsap said when the deputies checked the car that Wright had allegedly attempted to flee in, they found property that had just been stolen from a car parked in a Churchill Downs driveway. The property was identified and returned to the owner, who showed deputies where a landscaping brick had been thrown through her car window.
Wright was booked into the Bartow County jail on charges of entering an auto to commit a theft, prowling, obstruction, reckless driving and driving without a license.
A judge set his bond at $2,800 bond set, but is wanted by Tift County authorities on unrelated charges.
