CARTERSVILLE, GA — The Cartersville City School system is reminding residents of school closing update procedures. In the case of inclement weather, the system will take certain steps to ensure parents know about changes to the school day.

With record cold temperatures having swept the eastern United States this fall, school closures due to snow and ice are possible.

A notification will be sent via the Cartersville City Schools app. For app instructions, visit the Cartersville Schools website.

An automated phone call from 770-382-5880 will inform parents of cancellations or delays. The school suggests parents save this number so they know the call is coming from the school.

Officials will send out an email to parents' email addresses on file, so be sure yours is up to date.

An alert will be placed on each of the Cartersville City Schools' respective websites.
