Cartersville School Threat Not Credible: Officials
Regardless of the threat's lack of credibility, officials have increased police presence at the school in an abundance of caution.
CARTERSVILLE, GA — Cartersville City Schools officials said Wednesday night that they heard of a rumor of a threat at a Cartersville high school. Officials said in a Facebook post the potential threat is Thursday, adding that the threat has no credibility.
The threat, though determined to be empty, has caused officials to increase police presence at the school Thursday "out of an abundance of caution."
"Working in connection with local law enforcement authorities, CCS has determined that this rumor began in another school district and is not associated with or referring to Cartersville High School," the Facebook post says.
