During a search, police allegedly found on Brawner a syringe, three pills in a cigarette box, and several knives, a wrench and a screwdriver.
He was arrested and charged with prowling and possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance.
Ricky Lee Brawner, 50, also of Tennessee Street, and James Michael Jenkins, 51, of Cartersville, were also arrested and charged with prowling.
Trio Arrested After Pry Bar, Mail Found in Car
A car without proper tag lights led to the arrest of a local trio accused of breaking into a mailbox and stealing mail addressed to numerous other people.
Deputies report finding pills, a pry bar and a large knife during the early morning traffic stop Saturday on Highway 41 at Baker Road in Cartersville. Allegedly also in the car were numerous articles of mail not addressed to either of the three occupants of the white 1991 Chevrolet Carpice.
Joel Terrence McPherson, 50, of Two Run Crossing in Cartersville, first told police his girlfriend had lived at the address on the mail, 211 Roth Lane, then said he had used the pry bar to open the mailbox at that address.
He was arrested and charged with destruction of mailboxes, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, possession of dangerous drugs, drugs to be kept in original container, possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana and possession of contraband behind the guard line.
The driver, Drew Alexander Childers, 30, also of Two Run Crossing, and a second passenger, Connie Lynn Beason, 52, of Shaw Street in Kingston, were also arrested in connection with the mailbox.
Childers, who had active warrants for his arrest, was charged with destruction of mailboxes and faces several apparently unrelated charges—false statements in writings, two counts of burglary and theft by receiving stolen property.
Beason was charged with destruction of mailboxes.
