Early Morning Fire Destroys Home In Antigua Subdivision

CARTERSVILLE, GA — Fire destroyed a home early Tuesday morning in Cartersville’s Antigua subdivision.
WBHF Community Radio reports on its Facebook page that the Bartow County Fire Department said the house 15 Mercer Drive was “fully involved” by the time crews arrived at about 1:30 a.m.

None of the home’s four occupants were injured, but two firefighters were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, including a broken foot and a hurt knee, according to Bartow County Fire Chief Dwayne Jamison.
The scene was cleared by about 10 a.m.

The 3,500-square-foot house was ruled a total loss. The fire is under investigation by the Bartow County Fire Marshal's Office but is believed to be accidental, Jamison said.
