Etowah Rotary Club Cancels Fourth Of July Parade, Fireworks

This year's festivities are another casualty of the coronavirus pandemic.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — There will be no fireworks or parade on July 4 in Cartersville.

The Etowah Rotary Club of West End, which sponsors the activities, told WBHF Community Radio that all events had been cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The radio station reported on its Facebook page that Etowah Rotary Club president-elect Jason Prater said staging a parade or fireworks this year would be difficult because of pandemic concerns. Prater added that the Rotarians were saddened by the decision.
