Planetary Geologist Scott Harris will give a public lecture on the implications of the unique asteroid impact record of South America and the current threat of asteroids to life on Earth. Harris has spent the last decade studying the scars of asteroid collisions with our planet.
The lecture follows a 1:30 p.m. meeting of the Meteorite Association of Georgia. Anyone wanting to learn more about meteorites or meteorite research in Georgia is welcome to attend both events.
The cost is free to members and included with regular admission for non-members.
