Expect Slow Going on I-75 South
Maintenance will close two lanes for 1.5 miles through Cartersville for five hours Tuesday.

Don't expect to get anywhere fast for much of Tuesday if you plan to take Interstate 75 south through Cartersville.
Georgia Department of Transportation crews will repair patches of bad asphalt between mile markers 294.5 and 293 and as a result will close the two left lanes on that stretch of I-75 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., GDOT spokesman Mohamed Arafa announced Monday. That's a stretch from just south of Cassville-White Road to U.S. 411.
Bad weather could postpone the work, however, and the National Weather Service predicts a 70 percent chance showers and thunderstorms during the day Tuesday.
