Good Shepherd Director Charged With Fiduciary Theft, Arrested

Misty Dawn Baynard of Cartersville was charged with 42 counts of fiduciary theft, according to Bartow County Sheriff Clark Millsap.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — A Cartersville woman was arrested after authorities said she took about $45,000 from a work center she managed for developmentally challenged adults.

Misty Dawn Baynard, 42, was charged with 42 counts of felony fiduciary theft by taking and one count of exploitation of an elder or disabled person, according to Bartow County Sheriff Clark Millsap as reported by WBHF Community Radio.

The arrests came following a forensic audit conducted by board of directors of the Good Shepherd Foundation of Bartow County, where Baynard was director.

The money appeared to have gone missing between July 2019 and May 2020.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Baynard is in the Bartow County Adult Detention Center. Her bond has been set at $205,000.
