Labor Day 2019: What's Open, Closed In Bartow County
Here's a look at what public institutions, banks, stores and others are doing on Monday.
BARTOW COUNTY, GA — For many of us, Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer. The kids are back in school, football is back on the television and, if we get lucky, a cool breeze here and there suggests that autumn truly is on its way.
This year, Labor Day is Monday, Sept. 2. Because Labor Day is a federal holiday, it means a day off of work for a lot of people and no school for children. As such, many government and other services will be shut down for the day.
Here's a look at some of what will be open and what will be closed in Bartow County on Labor Day:

- Bartow County government offices will be closed
- Most banks will be closed
- U.S. Postal Service post offices will be closed
- State employees have the day off
- Bartow County Public Schools will be closed
- Cartersville City Schools will be closed
- Most Kroger, Publix and other major grocery stores will be open
- Most restaurants and other consumer-service businesses will be open, but it's worth calling ahead to make sure
- The Dellinger Park pool will be open
