LakePoint Plans Change as Earth Moving Begins
Terminus Wake Park is expected to open first, followed by other LakePoint Sporting Community & Town Center attractions, just south of Cartersville.
Plans are changing almost daily as earth moving and work on the massive sports complex in Bartow County gets underway.
In addition to splitting baseball and lacrosse/soccer fields between the north and south campuses of the LakePoint Sporting Community & Town Center, the planned 100,000-square-foot indoor facility will be at the center of the development near Emerson, reports the Rome News-Tribune. Three hotels are expected to open on the south campus, along with Chick-fil-A and Wendy's eateries.
While an entertainment district will one day greet visitors coming from Allatoona-Red Top Mountain Road, the first venue to open at LakePoint will be Terminus Wake Park.

The cable-pulled wakeboard park is hoping to open in late July or early August, reports The Daily Tribune News. It will be adjacent to Love's truckstop on Old Allatoona Road.
Terminus will be one of the largest and most unique of its kind in the United States and it’s signature an "elaborate series of rails and obstacles," many of which are not available in the U.S., according to its Facebook page. Its custom obstacles will be the first of their kind in the world.
