Latest Bartow County Coronavirus Update
Here are the latest local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is affecting Bartow County:
BARTOW COUNTY, GA — The new coronavirus outbreak in Georgia and across the nation continues to affect Bartow County, where schools are closed for the rest of the academic year and businesses remain shuttered in an effort to slow the spread of the virus.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases and deaths in Georgia continues to rise: 5,831 total on Friday, 1,158 hospitalized and 184 dead. At noon Friday, the Georgia Department of Public Health reports Fulton County's 882 cases are the most of any Georgia locality, with 23 deaths recorded. The highest number of deaths is in Dougherty County, with 30; its total number of cases rank second at 560. The next highest number of cases are in DeKalb with 448 cases, Cobb with 381 cases, Gwinnett with 329 cases, Bartow with 154 cases and Carroll with 143 cases.

BARTOW COUNTY CASES, DEATHS
Bartow County has only one new coronavirus case and no deaths since Tuesday. The county has tallied 143 coronavirus cases and three deaths as of noon Friday. All three of the deceased are male. Two had underlying conditions.

HEALTH CARE
Test kits are still in short supply in Georgia, so call your health provider first before visiting the office. MORE
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp Wednesday ordered all schools to stay closed for in-person instruction for the remainder of the academic year. Bartow County Public Schools and offices will be closed through April 6-10 for Spring Break. Students will take a recess from Digital Learning activities, and schools will not provide student meals for pick-up or delivery during the break.
