Man Jumps From Bridge Onto I-75: EMS

BREAKING: The man was rushed to Kennestone Hospital for treatment.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — A man jumped from Cass White Road onto I-75 southbound Tuesday, forcing authorities to stop traffic on the interstate.

EMS and other agencies responded to I-75 southbound around 4:38 p.m. When EMS arrived, they found a man in the middle of the roadway unconscious and unresponsive with shallow breathing, Bartow County EMS spokesperson Brad Cothran told Patch in an email. The man jumped from the bridge onto I-75 at mile marker 296.

EMS placed the man in an ambulance and the crew began advanced treatment of numerous trauma injuries. The man was taken to Kennestone Hospital for further treatment, Cothran said. Witnesses said the patient was not struck by any vehicles, Cothran added.

Traffic on the southbound side of I-75 was stopped for a short while.
