Man Punches Woman's Tree, Kicks Her Mailbox: Cartersville Crime

Disorderly conduct, marijuana-possession and public drunkenness were some arrests reported by Cartersville Police this week.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- The Cartersville Police Department provided the following information about recent incidents in the city. Arrests do not equal convictions.

  • A 49-year-old man was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct April 14 after a woman saw the man punching a tree in her yard and kicking her mailbox at an address in the 900 block of north Tennessee Street. The woman told police she was scared of the man because he was wearing a hospital bracelet and thought he might be an escaped mental patient, according to the police report. The woman told police she asked the man to leave, and he said no. The man told police he was just trying to blow off steam. The mailbox and tree were undamaged.
  • A 28-year-old man was arrested on charges of marijuana-possession, less than 1 oz
    and public drunk, April 15, at 266 N Dixie Ave SE.
  • A 33-year-old man was arrested on a charge of probation violation, April 16.
  • A 48-year-old man was arrested on a charge of probation violation, April 13.
  • A 33-year-old man was arrested on a charge of probation violation, April 14.
