  1. In case you missed it, a man in a lifted gray Toyota 4Runner reportedly fired gunshots at a gray Nissan Altima on southbound I-75 in Bartow County last week. Per the driver of the Altima, the driver of the Toyota 4Runner followed him along I-75 as he changed lanes, driving erratically, and brandishing a pistol at him when within sight of the driver. The driver of the 4Runner is alleged to have gotten ahead of the Altima and taken exit 296 off of the highway onto Cass White Road, then turned onto Peeples Valley Road and out of sight. Authorities say that a bullet entered the trunk of the Altima, went through the back and front passenger seats, and hit the radio console. An investigation is still ongoing. (WBHF Radio)
  2. The largest amethyst cluster found in Georgia, called the "Muscadines of Oglethorpe" will be displayed at the Tellus Science Museum in Cartersville. The Muscadines of Oglethorpe was discovered by Chester Karwoski of Watkinsville in December 1994 in Stephens in Oglethorpe County. On Jun. 9-10, Tellus will be holding its 32nd annual Rock Fest, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day, a perfect time to view the Muscadines! (Online Athens)
  3. In nearby Cobb County judge recently dismissed charges against Corbin Scott Engler, who had been charged with murder for the death of Katie Lambert in 2021. Judge Gregory Poole ruled that Engler had acted in self-defense as Lambert and others acted aggressively towards him on the incorrect belief that he was harming his child. Lambert got onto the hood of Engler's car to pursue him as he pulled out of an Acworth gas station and fell off the car as it accelerated, hitting her head and receiving injuries she died from. Per Judge Poole, Lambert's actions and the actions of other involved "gave rise to Defendant's reasonable belief that force was necessary to defend himself and his family." (Newsbreak)
