More Sun, Less Rain But Flood Watch Continues

While there may be a little more sun and a little less rain this week, the National Weather Service still wants folks to stay on guard.

About a half inch of rain was in Cartersville's Monday forecast, and while that may not seem too high, the ground remains saturated and river levels remain high.

According to a hazardous weather advisory issued on Monday by the NWS, "Periods of moderate to locally heavy rainfall today may lead to additionaly flash flooding and river flooding. . . Soils are extremely saturated and river levels are high. Thus it will not take much to produce additional flooding."

Tuesday through the weekend will continue to see around a 40 percent chance of rain, partly sunny skies and highs near the mid-80s.
