News Nearby: Camera Found in Salon; 8 Years in Beating of Boy, 3

A 55-year-old man drowned Sunday afternoon while on a paddle board in Lake Acworth, according to the Acworth Police Department. He has been identified as Thomas King of Marietta.

According to investigators, King rented the paddle board and accessories from a local sporting goods store and was not wearing a life jacket at the time of the incident.

are continuing their investigation into the placement of a recording device in a private room of an East Cobb salon.

The camera was discovered in a light in Suite 110 of the Salon Avenue Suites on Sandy Plains Road near East Piedmont Road, according to Cobb County Police Sgt. Dana Pierce. According to 11 Alive News, women typically received Brazilian wax treatments within the suite in question.

It is currently not know where the images the camera may have captured have been stored, as it appears the owner of the camera successfully made off with the data before the police arrives.

"Until we find the images, we have no evidence that a crime took place," Pierce said.

Another Case of Flesh-Eating Bacteria Claims Hands and Legs

Gwinnett Daily Post reported Saturday that Hannah Rinehart, a patient care technician at DeKalb Medical-Hillandale, fell victim to a bacterial infection that claimed both her hands and lower legs.  

Rinehart developed aches and pains, according to the Gwinnett Daily Post, but once her fever broke the couple put their worries aside.  

When Hannah, a cancer survivor, went to see her oncologist for an appointment, her husband Mark had to "carry her in." The couple lives in Decatur. 

She has been comatose for weeks.

Chad Eugene Pierre-Louis, 25, was convicted on charges of second-degree child cruelty and received 10 years, with eight to be served behind bars, as well as a $1,000 fine for his part in the beating of a 3-year-old boy on the side of the road last November, according to a report in the Douglas County Sentinel.

Pierre-Louis was present when Suzie Elie, 24, was seen by witnesses hitting her son with a switch on the side of the road, according to the Facebook page.
