Presidents' Day 2019: What's Open, Closed In Cartersville

CARTERSVILLE, GA — Presidents' Day is observed this Monday, Feb. 18, and it won't have too much of an effect on what's open and closed in the area. The holiday was actually established in 1885 to honor President George Washington. It was later renamed Presidents Day to celebrate the birthdays of both Washington on Feb. 22 and President Abe Lincoln's birthday on Feb. 12.

Recycling and trash pick up will go as normal.

Bartow County offices will be open.

Bartow County schools and Cartersville City schools will remain open as normal.

The U.S. Postal Service observes Presidents' Day.

Most big banks will be closed. Many local banks have their hours listed as open (this information was retrieved from Google Maps; be sure to call ahead before making the trip):
