Masked Robber Also Wears Yellow Panties Covering His Face

Cartersville police say a 62-year-old local man is responsible for an alleged robbery Tuesday at the Dollar General in Market Square.

The cashier said a man later identified as Icar St. Valentine Channer of Mountain Chase Drive came into the store wearing a toboggan and yellow panties over his face about 6:50 p.m. and said he wanted to exchange a $100 bill for five $20s, according to the incident report, attached.

The cashier, who said Channer never showed the $100, said he then demanded the clerk open the cash register and give him money. The masked robber ran after he told the clerk, who said three times he couldn't open it, to call the manager to open the cash drawer, the toboggan and panties partially covering his face.

Police caught up with Channer at nearby Churches Chicken and say they found a large knife, toboggan, yellow panties and gloves either on or near him. He was arrested and charged with strong-arm robbery and using a mask to conceal his identity.

Police say Colley, of Jennifer Lane, resisted being handcuffed, but was finally jailed on criminal trespass and obstruction charges.

Man Steals Rocking Chairs from Area Cracker Barrel Stores

Employees of Cartersville's Cracker Barrel say a man drove up and loaded a rocking chair into his Jeep Cherokee and it's not the first theft of the well-known rockers.

The man suspected in other rocking chair thefts at area Craker Barrel restaurants pulled up in the green Cherokee on Saturday about 8 a.m. and took the chair, valued at $180, employees told deputies.

Authorities have a suspect, and the man was captured on video surveillance.
