Rose Lawn Art Festival Application Deadline Aug. 10
The annual September festival in Cartersville is set this year to grow to accommodate 115 artists.

The 37th-annual Arts Festival at , set for Sept. 15 and 16 in Cartersville, this year is growing to accommodate its maximum number of artists and vendors, 115.
"Over the past two years the festival committee has worked to redesign booth layouts to increase the number of possible booths," officials said in a release. "This annual event is held on the 3-acre grounds of Rose Lawn, the historic home of renowned Methodist Evangelist Samuel Porter Jones in the heart of downtown Cartersville."
Deadline to Apply for Space: Aug. 10
Creators of fine arts or heritage crafts are invited to apply for space, but the deadline is Aug. 10.   Â

New applicants must submit three color photos representing the artist’s original work to be displayed in the festival. The photos will then be reviewed by the committee for show acceptance.
Artists who meet the committee’s entry approval and choose to pay an additional jury fee have the opportunity to compete for prize money in the juried arts festival. The best-in-show winner will be awarded $300 and the first-place, second-place and third-place honorees receive $150, $125 and $75, respectively, in both fine arts and heritage crafts.

Exhibitors will be treated to a hearty breakfast on Saturday morning, followed by a complimentary barbecue dinner that evening.Â
Booths are $75 juried and $60 non-juried for a 10-by-10-foot exhibit space. Electricity is an additional $15; however, it's limited in availability.Â

Planning To Go?
The festival is set for Saturday, Sept. 15, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 16, from noon to 5 p.m.
Admission is free to the public and guests can take a guided tour of the 18-room Victorian home and museum for $5 each.
Rose Lawn features sculpted plaster scrollwork, murals, the antique collection of , and period furnishings and writings from the collection of Laura and Sam Jones. Personal mementos of Jones’ teacher, Rebecca Latimer Felton, the first woman to serve in the U.S. Senate, are also on display at Rose Lawn.

The Arts Festival at Rose Lawn is hosted by Bartow County and sponsored by . In addition to numerous booths of quality arts and crafts, visitors enjoy food, the annual AAUW Book Sale and two days of entertainment.
Juried artists awards will be presented at 1 p.m. on Saturday when first-place, second-place and third-place winners in both Fine Arts and Heritage Crafts are honored and the best-in-show award is presented.Â
The 2012 People’s Choice Awards, presented by the convention and visitors bureau, will be given to the top online vote getters in three categories—Best Restaurant, Best Shoppe and Best Attraction. CVB also will honor this year's Hospitality Heroes.
