1. The Cartersville Board of Education has approved an $86.2 million budget for fiscal year 2024. The budget was passed in a unanimous vote during the board's meeting on Jun. 12. It reportedly was approved swiftly following a second public meeting held earlier this month. (Daily Tribune News)
2. The 2023 Bartow County Farm Family of the Year award has been given to Mama J's Produce. Representative John Jerauld called the award a "tremendous honor." Mama J's Produce is the first hydroponic vegetable grower in history to win the county's top agricultural honor. (Daily Tribune News)
3. Registration is now open for the second session of Junior Lifeguard Camp at Dellinger Park Pool. Classes will run daily, Jun. 27-30, from 12:00-5:00 p.m. Registration is $120 per camper and can be done through the MyCartersville app or online. (Cartersville Parks & Rec Department via Facebook)
