CARTERSVILLE, GA — As businesses come and go, a local favorite often closes, much to the dismay of the community.
We asked readers on Facebook which businesses they wished they could bring back, no matter how long they have been closed. More than 270 comments came in as readers shared names of their favorite businesses of years past. From recently closed businesses to those popular years or decades ago, readers shared a variety of businesses.
Some came up time and time again, showing how much the community loved and misses the business. The Meating Place was a restaurant plenty of readers said they missed.

Brenda Brewer King said The Meating Place had the best homemade honey mustard she's ever had. Lisa Hoover Priest agreed and said they had delicious baby lemon poppy seed muffins.

Antonino's, an Italian restaurant, was another missed spot. Kim Ashley said, "the owner was so awesome...I sure miss it!"
Kathy King commented that Kay’s Kastle, "was the best ice cream ever."
Multiple commenters said Cartersville needs a bowling alley or skating rink.
"Cartersville NEEDS things for kids to do!" Nikki Dover commented, with 34 "likes" in agreement.
Susanne Epps also suggested a bowling and skating rink, agreeing that the city, "needs positive things for kids/teens to do."
