- The Pine Log Wildlife Management Area in Bartow County closed its doors for good on Thursday. Since mid-May, the area's main entrances have been closed to the public, but the DNR continually works to keep the site open. Multiple petitions are circulating to preserve access to the site as concerns arise about protecting the land. (WSB Atlanta)
- One person was critically injured after an industrial accident at the Chemical Products Corporation in Cartersville. The individual received severe burns, while another person sustained minor injuries due to the accident. The company is investigating the cause of the accident in-house. (WBHF Radio)
- Two Georgia High School golf coaches from Cartersville have been selected for the Georgia High School Golf Coaches Association's all-state team. The nominees were collected from coaches across the state and selected by a panel. Brooklyn Heath and Brody Tidwell were chosen for the AAAAA Boys and Girls teams. (The Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
